We survived the 3.0 Earthquake of 2008...in EULESS!

Matt and I were still awake last night sometime after 11:30, and we felt something that I would have described as Big Foot stomping in our front yard. We both freaked out and got up to check all of the rooms, check outside, lock all of doors and even set our alarm. We didn't know what it was. We thought maybe a tree had fallen or a car had run into our neighbor's house or something. We just felt this strange rumble for just a quick second. We turned on the weather to see if there were any storms, because it felt almost like thunder without the loud boom. Anyways, it was driving us nuts last night. Then about 10 minutes later we felt it again as if he was a few blocks away. I come into work this morning to get this article from a coworker!! How crazy!!! Well, at least I know we aren't crazy!! Fall Festival

Tonight we met some friends at the Fall Festival that Gateway Church has each year. It was a lot of fun for the kids. Unfortunately my camera battery died shortly after we got there, but I did get a few pictures of the cute costumes!

Here is the boot-wearing-fairy-princess-ballerina with pink boots and the cutest Elmo ever!

We also met up with Hannah Montana and Karsyn Candy Corn!

Stinky Poop

It's not as gross as the title sounds! We went for a walk around the block this morning, and on our way back to the house we passed some dog poo in a front yard.

Campbell pointed and said: "Ooh, stinky poop!"
I said: "That's yucky!"

We kept walking, but she waved and said "Bye bye stinky poop...hab a nice day."

Enjoy the tunes of Miss Campbell Kay!

I finally caught it on video....Campbell singing! She sings songs ALL the time, but every time I get the camera out she always gets distracted by something else and won't perform. Anyways, I got the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle on camera. Unfortunately she's not facing the camera some of the time, but my battery was low so I was plugged into the wall and couldn't move far enough to get around her. Anyways, crank up your volume and enjoy!! Her pronunciations need some work - they are pretty amusing!

Texas State Fair

We actually made a trip to the fair this year! We went on Saturday with Russell, Joyce and Channing. After about an hour of waiting in line for parking, we finally arrived around 3:00. We stayed until almost 8:30, so we definitely got some good hours at the fair. We took the girls to this Little Hands activity where they wore aprons and carried buckets. They had to follow directions and harvest crops, milk cows, and then turn in their goods for money that they used to buy treats. Of course, it was all pretend. Campbell and Channing both followed directions very well - it was pretty cute! At the end they each got to pick 2 packs of crackers and/or cookies with their "earnings", and then we all got a free ice cream bar for completing the tasks. We walked around to see different booths, including the Borden's cows. Of course the girls enjoyed seeing any animals that we could find. We also watched the pig races, but sadly we missed the dancing dog show. After we each ate our "dinner" of choice.....corny dog for Missy and Joyce, Turkey Leg for Russell and Channing, and a hamburger for Matt (Campbell only had crackers since she actually THREW UP right before we started eating - that was lovely!)....we all were very selective of the FRIED dessert that we felt obligated to try. We all chose Fried S'mores - YUM YUM!! They were excellent! I'll probably try Fried Snickers next year! I will say that Chicken Fried Bacon must have been pretty good, because the line was out of control for those!! Of course, Matt can't resist some good cotton candy, so we all shared a bag of cotton candy while watching the parade that night. It was really pretty since it wasn't until dark and all the floats were lit up. We then walked around and watched some of the CRAZY rides that they have, but none of us ventured to try any. So...although it was not a cheap outing, we had a really good time!

Here Campbell is petting the baby Borden cow....I forgot his name! Also, we had to get a picture of Matt and I trying our FRIED treats!

I love this pictures of the girls being silly in the stroller together!

Go Express!

Campbell was the official cheerleader for Channing's soccer game this weekend! I made her this shirt with iron on letters. The front says Go Express (their team name), and the back says I LUV CHANNING and her jersey number 7. It was pretty cute. Campbell wasn't in the best of moods, but she still represented well.

Here's a picture of the ONLY single time that Channing touched the ball!

With her juice box after a tiring game, Campbell fit in like she was part of the team!

Here are a couple of other cute pictures from last week. Thursday was Orange Shirt Day at Campbell's school. She was not ready for me to take her picture that early in the morning though. Also, here's another picture of her cute new boots!

Posting Frenzy

I'm on a posting frenzy tonight! If you are trying to catch up, just FYI, I posted SIX blogs below all tonight from things that happened over the weekend. I hope you are all having a great week!! We're more than half way done with the week....the weekend is just around the corner!!

Nativity Set

My grandparents are making this BEAUTIFUL nativity set! It's a very simple, modern design, which I LOVE! The details are just perfect! I've posted the pictures below. If anyone is interested in ordering a set for themselves or as a gift for someone, let me know! The 9-piece set includes 3 kings, Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus, and a shepherd with 2 sheep. The tallest of the 3 kings measures 9 1/4 inches tall. Joseph is 8 1/2 inches tall, and Mary is 7 1/4 inches tall. The set sells for $65.

pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!!

I was so happy to have Columbus Day as a holiday at work! I was able to make a play date at the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch with Jenn, Whitney, Lesli, Joyce and all the kiddos! We met out there for lunch, which was just so crazy because everyone else in the world had the same idea that day. It was packed!! We seemed to keep our sanity pretty well and stuck it out for a couple of hours. After lunch we walked around to see all the painted characters that were on display. We did the hay ride and then walked around the pumpkins and the bounce houses. We were covered in dust and exhausted by the time we headed home, but the kids really enjoyed it!

I think this picture of Karsyn and Campbell in the wagon is PRECIOUS!

This picture with Yoda was especially funny to me! For those of you that don't know, Matt would very lovingly call Campbell Yoda when she was a little baby, because her ears stick out like his do. We've always made jokes about Yoda. So, of course I was excited to take her picture with him! She, on the other hand, was not interested in getting near him as you can see!

I also got these cute pictures of my friend Whitney's twin boys, Cole (left) and Cade (right). Here is Lesli's daughter Ella in the bounce house too! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of Miss Harper, but she definitely caught Cole and Cade's attention...who knows, there might be a love story in their future!

Nana's Birthday Dinner

We went to Macaroni Grill on Sunday for Nana's birthday. Channing and Campbell wore their matching "party dresses" for the occasion. Nana had gotten them these the year before, and Campbell's finally fit perfectly this summer. The girls were so cute, and just love to be together! We also took the opportunity to take a family photo while together. Campbell was VERY cooperative, but every time she makes her "say cheese" face, she closes her eyes tightly and starts being silly. Channing was also very sweet to share her ice cream with her cousin.

Family Photos with Gigi

Saturday night we went to an engagement party for Matt's cousin CJ and his fiance Brooke. We could not be happier about their engagement!! Brooke is as sweet as she can be, and she has felt like a part of the family for a long time! The shower was just SO cute with a country BBQ theme at Matt's Aunt Lala's house...we wouldn't expect anything less from the Devito girls! I wish I had taken pictures of the centerpieces and decorations to post, because it could not have been cuter! We did at least attempt to take a family picture while we were all together, but Campbell and Channing were not exactly in the mood. Campbell wore her "oh-so-appropriate" bandanna dress that I got in Canton.

Channing Turned 5!!!

I can't believe it!! Our precious niece Channing turned FIVE this week! Today is her actual birthday - "Happy birthday to me Channing Papa Cake" - that's how Campbell sings Happy Birthday. It's evolved from Happy Birthday to Me.....to Happy Birthday to Me Papa Doc (when it was my grandfather's birthday)....to Happy Birthday to Me Papa Cake (after having a conversation about birthday cake)....to Happy Birthday to Me Channing Papa Cake for Channing's birthday. I'll have to see if I can record her singing it sometime to post it - too cute! Anyways, we went to a joint birthday party for Channing and her friend Jack at Pump it Up on Saturday. We had a blast! Campbell is usually intimidated by the inflatable bounce houses and slides, but she definitely got over that this weekend. She loved it! We all had fun - even the adults!

I love this picture of Campbell and Karsyn coming down the slide together! Also, every time Campbell would slide down before Papa, she'd turn around to wait for him....so sweet!

Here's a quick posed picture with Mommy before sliding down with the silly birthday girl!

Here's the attempted group picture of all the kiddos at the party and a picture of Campbell sliding down with Nana.

Here's our well-behaved daughter climbing up into the chair with the birthday kids. We kept saying, "where are that girls parents???" Of course I just kept taking pictures :) ! Also, here's a cute picture of her jumping in the bounce house. She would fall flat on her face so hard that I would flinch thinking it hurt, but she was cracking up every time.

These are some cute pics of Campbell jumping!

I love this picture. She's trying to balance on the bench, so the best way to eat the cupcake was with no hands!

Family Pictures

We had a friend who coordinated some times this past weekend to have family pictures made at a park in Coppell by this GREAT photographer, Scott Birdsong. He did a GREAT job!! Campbell wasn't too cooperative, but he did well especially considering his unhappy subject! Anyways, here are some good ones! We did get a really good family shot too, but you'll just have to wait to get your Christmas card to see that one :) !
