Channing Turned 5!!!

I can't believe it!! Our precious niece Channing turned FIVE this week! Today is her actual birthday - "Happy birthday to me Channing Papa Cake" - that's how Campbell sings Happy Birthday. It's evolved from Happy Birthday to Me.....to Happy Birthday to Me Papa Doc (when it was my grandfather's birthday)....to Happy Birthday to Me Papa Cake (after having a conversation about birthday cake)....to Happy Birthday to Me Channing Papa Cake for Channing's birthday. I'll have to see if I can record her singing it sometime to post it - too cute! Anyways, we went to a joint birthday party for Channing and her friend Jack at Pump it Up on Saturday. We had a blast! Campbell is usually intimidated by the inflatable bounce houses and slides, but she definitely got over that this weekend. She loved it! We all had fun - even the adults!

I love this picture of Campbell and Karsyn coming down the slide together! Also, every time Campbell would slide down before Papa, she'd turn around to wait for him....so sweet!

Here's a quick posed picture with Mommy before sliding down with the silly birthday girl!

Here's the attempted group picture of all the kiddos at the party and a picture of Campbell sliding down with Nana.

Here's our well-behaved daughter climbing up into the chair with the birthday kids. We kept saying, "where are that girls parents???" Of course I just kept taking pictures :) ! Also, here's a cute picture of her jumping in the bounce house. She would fall flat on her face so hard that I would flinch thinking it hurt, but she was cracking up every time.

These are some cute pics of Campbell jumping!

I love this picture. She's trying to balance on the bench, so the best way to eat the cupcake was with no hands!

Family Pictures

We had a friend who coordinated some times this past weekend to have family pictures made at a park in Coppell by this GREAT photographer, Scott Birdsong. He did a GREAT job!! Campbell wasn't too cooperative, but he did well especially considering his unhappy subject! Anyways, here are some good ones! We did get a really good family shot too, but you'll just have to wait to get your Christmas card to see that one :) !

Back from Port A!

We had a great trip to Port A!! We went with both sets of my grandparents (Campbell's great grandparents), my parents, my sister and her husband Kyle, and then Matt's mom, sister Sara and Channing came down Saturday for the day. We stayed at Port Royal, which is where we stayed in October 2007 for my sister's wedding. The rooms are condos that people own, so they are each decorated differently. They come in 1, 2, or 3 bedroom setups with kitchen and living area. We took all of our own food, so we never ate out once while we were there. They have a GREAT pool with 3 hot tubs and some slides, but we ended up spending most of our days at the beach since that's something we don't get to do that often. The weather was great, and the beach wasn't crowded at all. You'd be surprised to see it, but there isn't any debris from the storm and all the boardwalks are already repaired. You wouldn't know that a bad storm had even come through recently.

Campbell LOVED the beach! She wasn't afraid of the water one bit! Probably her favorite things to do were to chase and feed the seagulls and play with her buckets in the sand and water. Kyle and Christy brought their Rodeo to the beach each day so that we could setup a tailgate party with music. They even setup a UT tent and a tarp so that we had some shade. We did this Thursday, Friday and Saturday and stayed at the beach all day. It was great! Saturday they set a wedding up right next to our car!! It was hilarious, because we all had front row seats! You can see in one of the pictures how close we were to the wedding. I've posted some pictures of highlights from the trip below, but of course I took many many more!

I love this pictures of Campbell and Channing getting ready to go to the beach with their boogie boards!

Port Aransas

Well, we'll be on our way down to Port Aransas in just a couple hours! We stayed at Port Royal in Port A last October for my sister's wedding. We had such a great time with all the family down there that we decided to go again this year! We'll be meeting both of my sets of grandparents, my parents, and my sister and her husband Kyle. We're hopeful to see Gigi, Sassy, and Channing on Saturday too! Please pray for our safe travels as we make the 8ish hour drive today and coming home Sunday. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures to come!! Stay tuned!!
