San Diego here we come!

We are so excited to go to San Diego this weekend...just the three of us! However, I HATE this waiting/packing time before a trip!! I can't wait to be on the plane tomorrow morning. I'll finally just relax since I can't really do anything about any forgotten items at that point! We are renting a car, so we'll probably go check out the beach and some shopping on Friday. We hope to hit up some good places to eat too! Saturday we'll be at the zoo most of the day....can't wait! Sunday we'll start our day off with Breakfast with Elmo and Friends at Sea World! I really think Campbell will be scared of the characters even though she is a big Elmo fan, but hopefully she'll think they're entertaining. We plan to be at Sea World all day Sunday where we'll also "dine with Shamu" for a late lunch! We'll try to see all the shows, but we'll get a front row seat for lunch to see Shamu. We are just so excited! I'll try to post on Monday evening when we get back....I'm sure I'll have PLENTY of pictures!!

Zebra, zebra, zebra!

I have found a friend of a friend that makes such cute things for little girls! I've now bought a tutu from her....ADORABLE....some pink wings to go with the tutu for Halloween, some adorable zebra board shorts, a zebra pillowcase dress, some headbands, a zebra bow, and a cute Halloween headband with bow. I thought I would show off some pictures of the cute finds! Also, I'd love to give her some publicity.....Simply Cynful Creations! Here are a couple websites to check out her stuff:

First day of School!

Campbell had her first day of school today! My boss was sweet to let me work from home so that I could take her and pick her up for her first day. She did great! She didn't cry when I dropped her off. Instead she pulled up a chair at the table in her room and started playing with the games that they had set out. She even waved bye bye for a picture!

Nannie went with me to pick her up so she could meet her teachers and see where her room is since she will usually be the one to drop her off and pick her up....that's why I call it Nannie's Day Out. I tried to get her picture before she saw us, but she could hear us talking in the hall and came running to the door to see. I got a shot of her running toward us saying "Mommy! Nannie!" She was happy to see us, but she wasn't upset. They said she did just fine. They said she is a talker! They said she was counting everything all day and she would sing the "Clean Up" song whenever they'd start picking things up. I was so glad that she seemed to adjust perfectly to the new environment and people. I think she'll really enjoy school!

Also, I must say that she looked oh so cute in her "first day of school" dress that Gigi got for her!!

Getting ready to leave for school with lunchbag in hand!

Band Nerd or Cheerleader, what's it gonna be?

Tonight I went to a girls prayer night with some friends, so Matt took Campbell to Lamar's football game....Haltom vs. Bell HS. Campbell was all excited to go see "Mamie and Karsyn" as she calls Landrie and Karsyn. Of course she always asks about "Doach" too....that's supposed to be COACH for Lamar. I seriously think that she really believes that his name is Coach - it's so funny! Anyways, Matt took her to the game, and sends me the following text messages:

1st text 7:49 pm: Your daughter loves the cheerleaders. Uh oh! Now she's dancing with them!

2nd text 8:54 pm: Oh no! She REALLY likes the band!

So, I think it's a pretty good sign that she wants to be a "band nerd" (as Matt says) in her Mommy's footsteps!! Maybe she'll even take up the clarinet! I just had to laugh when he sent me those texts! Just thought I would share the funny story!

Here's a shout out to sweet Sydney, a loyal reader of Campbell's Scoop ..... sorry there aren't any pictures this time! I'll try to put some up this weekend ;) !

Meet the Teachers

Our little girl is growing up fast....she's about to start school! OK, I know it's just Mother's Day Out (or in our case it's Nannie's Day Out) two days a week, but it's still such a big FIRST for us! We went to meet her teachers tonight. She walked right into the room without any hesitation and immediately started playing with all the other kids. When we went to take her picture with the teachers she reached for them and was perfectly fine to be held. She did great! I really think it will be so good for her to be around a group of kids regularly. I think she is going to love it! Her teachers are Miss Kiersten and Miss Ruby. They were very sweet and excited about all of the kiddos.

We were the last family in her room, so after all the other kids and parents had left Matt said to the teachers, "you know, she will be the smartest one in your class?" Kiersten said, "I'm sure she will!" I'm sure that's a response that she gives to all of the EMBARRASSING parents, but she was sweet to play along with Matt's humor so well. It was funny! He then told them that she can count and say her ABC's .... I was waiting for one of them to roll their eyes.

I was relieved that there was another mom that had a camera too, so I wasn't the only one! Then another mom said she had forgotten to bring her camera, so I played paparazzi to her little boy and emailed her the pictures when we got home. Of course the blog wouldn't be complete without some pictures to document the event! So, here they are...

Here's Campbell with her new teachers....Miss Kiersten on the left and Miss Ruby on the right

There were Push-up suckers for the kids. Campbell hadn't figured out how to open hers, but she quickly found a little boy who had mastered it! She walked up to him and said, "can I hab it?"

This little girl is only 18-months old, but she is definitely winning the hair race! I think Campbell might be beating Daddy soon though :)

A trip down memory lane....by video

I wanted to learn how to post video, which is overwhelming since I have 21 months to choose from since I'm behind on my posting. I'm sure I should just start current, but I've now spent over an hour watching videos of Campbell since she was so little. I thought I would try to post some highlights! I'm not checked out on video editing yet, so I apologize that some of these are unnecessarily long. I think I may have picked out a few too many, so maybe I'll make it multiple posts this week. It's fun to see how quickly they change! We forget all to soon how little they once were!

A Fun Labor Day

First, I'd like to give an update to my previous post....Matt cleaned up the Saturn and "repaired" some things this morning before taking it to Carmax to see what kind of offer they would make. Well, I guess $250 is the magic number, because that is exactly what they offered too!! Anyways, $275 anyone??? Before all of you jump to make an offer, I should be honest and say that Matt did fix the volume button on the stereo, but now the stereo no longer works...oops!! I think we're still going to give Craig's List a try.

OK, back to my Labor Day post. I guess I should apologize now that I'll probably be an "over-poster" if there is such a word. I don't know that I'll post too frequently, but I doubt I'll keep many of them short. I take way too many pictures and feel the need to share ALL of them, and then clearly I can't say just a few words to go with them. Hopefully the newness of the blog will wear off soon, and I'll eventually be considered a "normal blogger". Right now, I'm just so excited that I have to post everything that happens that day. I know it's probably annoying that I take so many pictures. It's really for two reasons. One, I love our camera!! Two, I just LOVE Campbell's personality so much (not to mention that I think she is the cutest little girl ever....of course along with all of your cute little kiddos too!) that I want to capture all the many expressions and personality traits in pictures that we'll have forever. I guess if I take a picture of her EVERY second, then I won't miss a moment! Plus, for those of you that don't get to see her that often, I want to capture Miss Campbell as we know her in a way that I can share her with you. Anyways, I just can't stand to not take pictures of every moment!

OK, with that said, here are a bunch of pictures from this weekend that I wanted to share!

Here Campbell is all sweaty with sunscreen in her hair (we have to protect her sweet head since she's still thin on top!), and I just think she might have some curls coming in!

Here Campbell is with Gigi and Fetts and the pool
Here Campbell is splashing in the pool with Nama
Swinging with her "boyfriend".....aka Papa
Daddy, Campbell, and Grandma....don't they all look cool in their shades?!!!
Isn't she so cute and cooperative to wear her hat and sunglasses for Mommy to take a picture?
Just another day at home.....working on her laptop with her sunglasses and backpack
As she says, "Mommy, it's heaby!"

Thanks again for reading! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!!
